State Championships 2006

I went down to Los Angeles to race at the State Championships. I took 3rd in my division. That was what I was expecting going in, knowing who was skating. Although, one always wishes to defy expectation. I had some good races and some bad. I learned a few things. I won my last race entirely on strategy, which was most excellent. I posted a complete race report on the Norcal forum at www.norcalspeedskating.org/forums so I won't repeat everything here. At the hotel I definitely made good use of the hot tub. No one would go in with me, so I didn't make good use of it in *that* way. But I was just fairly relaxed about the whole weekend. It helped that Tom did all of the driving. Sunday morning I had a sunrise dip in the hot tub which totally started the day off right.
